Hackers bypass firewall, crack encryption, fail to download ebook that does not exist
A sophisticated attack reached 99% before running into the one problem no hacker can solve.
Hackers using a terminal at hacker.dad-look.com bypassed a firewall, accessed a mainframe, brute-forced an admin password and obtained root access, DNN has learned.
They then located the file dad_look_i_wrote_a_book.pdf, which was 0 bytes, and began the download. It stopped at 99%.
"ERROR: NO DIGITAL COPIES EXIST," the terminal reported. Security experts say the book's defence is simple: "You cannot hack a shelf."
