Local dad writes book, prints exactly one copy, asks $1 million
Danish author Abdel Seoud spent twelve months writing a book "with one reader in mind". Then he made sure there could only ever be one.
COPENHAGEN, Denmark — A Danish developer has written a book, printed one copy of it, and put it up for sale for $1,000,000, DNN can confirm.
"One year of writing, ONE copy for sale. For ONE million dollars, I hope I don't fail," the author, Abdel Seoud, wrote on his website, dad-look.com. He has promised that no additional copies will ever be printed and that no digital copies will ever be sold.
The book is called Dad, Look – I Wrote A Book! Its plot is undisclosed. According to the author, it is "kind of a funny story" with "a true fictional theme", about "guts" and "glory".
The highest offer so far is $10. Market analysts describe the gap to the asking price as "large".
The buyer will be invited for beers with the author, who has promised to bring chocolates, "the best you've had in years".
Seoud has since built 13 websites to sell the book. Read more about the campaign.
